1. Pronunciation: Open Voice Recorder. Record yourself reading the exercise from class. Pay close attention to the past tense endings. When you finish, listen to your recording. Check your pronunciation.
2. Listening: Click on the link below and look at the list of people. Pick one person who interests you. Listen to their story and read along.

After you listen to the story, make a timeline of the important events in their life. You should have at least 8 events in your timeline.
3. Writing: Next week, you are going to give a presentation on the life of this person. Open Microsoft Word and begin to write a summary of the person's life. Answer these questions:
Paragraph 1:
1. Who is this person?
2. What did he/she do?
3. Where did he/she live? When was the person alive?
4. Why is this person important?
Paragraph 2:
1. When was the person born? Where?
2. Where did the person grow up? What was the person's family like?
3. Did the person go to school? Where?
4. Did the person get married? When? To who?
5. Did the person have children? How many?
6. Were there any other important events in the person's life?
Paragraph 3:
1. What was the person's goal? Why did this person want to achieve this goal?
2. What obstacles did the person have?
3. What were the person's strengths?
4. What people helped this person achieve the goal?
5. What resources did the person use to achieve the goal?
6. What was the person's strategy to achieve this goal?
Paragraph 4:
1. Did the person achieve their goal? How do we know?
2. Why is this person important to you?
3. What do you think of this person?
