Computer Lab: October 26, 2011

Prepare your presentation for Friday!
1. Timeline: Click on the link below and look at the list of people. Pick one person who interests you. Listen to their story and read along.

Amazing People

After you listen to the story, make a timeline of the important events in their life. You should have at least 8 events in your timeline.

When you finish your timeline, you can start part 2, Writing.

2. Writing: Next week, you are going to give a presentation on the life and goals of this person. Open Microsoft Word and write a summary of the person's life. Answer these questions:

Paragraph 1:
1. Who is this person?
2. What did he/she do?
3. Where did he/she live? When was the person alive?
4. Why is this person important?

* Now, you will present the timeline you made of the person's life

Paragraph 2:
1. What was the person's goal? Why did this person want to achieve this goal?
2. What obstacles did the person have?
3. What were the person's strengths?
4. What people helped this person achieve the goal?
5. What resources did the person use to achieve the goal?
6. What was the person's strategy to achieve this goal?

Paragraph 3:
1. Did the person achieve their goal? How do we know?
2. Why is this person important to you?
3. What do you think of this person?

When you finish, save the document on the desktop. Save the document as the famous person's name (for example, Martin Luther King). Then, e-mail it to cnajvs@gmail.com

3. Note Cards:
When you finish, you can write your presentation on note cards. You have three note cards: One note card for paragraph 1, one note card for paragraph 2 and one note card for paragraph 3.

When you finish, you should practice your presentation. Check your grammar and pronunciation. Do you know how to say all the words?
